Universal Studios!

Sorry about the lack of posting… I got really distracted around Christmas and New Years. But anyway- I want to share about my trip to Universal Studios! I’ve been asking to go there for 2 years, and my parents surprised me with a trip this year! Universal Studios was amazing! I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan, and I absolutely loved the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

The first day we got there was soooo fun! We went to Universal Studios (not Islands of Adventure, that was another day). Our first stop was at the new ride Harry Potter and the Escape From Gringotts. We were about to load into our car when the ride broke down. So much for our first ride…. On our way out, they gave our family a stack of FREE Express Passes! We walked around Diagon Alley (which was AWESOME!). I bought a Slytherin hat and my very own wand! It was interactive, so I could cast spells at certain places in the park. I also went to see the Olivander’s Wand Show. That was soooo cool! Later, we went back to the Gringotts ride and finally got to ride it! It was fun, but not my favorite ride. Next, we went to ride some other rides. I loved the Minion Mayhem ride, Rip Ride Rocket and some others.Hogwarts

The next day we went on over to the Islands of Adventure. We stopped first at Hogsmeade and I spent most of my money on another wand (Luna Lovegood’s collectible), a Slytherin shirt, a stuffed owl, a working Marauder’s Map, a Slytherin pin and much more! We rode the Dragon Challenge roller coaster, which has got to be my favorite roller coaster. I also LOOOOOOVED Hogwarts! Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey was my favorite simulator.

I also rode The Hulk. That was amazing! I loved spending time with my family, and the whole entire park was filled with stuff for everyone to enjoy. On my third day, we rode the Hogwarts Express between the two parks. That was so much fun! There were so many Harry Potter things there, and I loved finding hidden secrets. The effects at the park were also really cool! I really wish I could go back soon!

DISNAYWURLDLast week, my family took me on vacation to Orlando, Florida. We spent 12 days there (2 driving there, 2 driving back.) and spent a total of 8 days at theme parks. We went to DisneyWorld for 5 days and Universal Studios for 3 days. This post will be mainly about DisneyWorld, although I will post another about Universal Studios.

After two long days of driving, we arrived at our hotel. That night we left for Downtown Disney, a shopping area open to anyone. I had saved up my money for the past two months and had around $420. We walked around the shops, admiring the toys and displays.I spent about $90 on pins for trading around the park.

The next day we went to Hollywood Studios. We had 3 Fast Passes- one for Tower of Terror, Rockin’ Rollercoaster and Star Tours. I LOVED Rockin’ Rollercoaster!!!

The day after that, we went to Magic Kingdom. The fast passes for that day were for Peter Pan’s Flight, Splash Mountain and Space Mountain. I have had terrible experience with Space Mountain (The last time I went, we were going to ride it but it was late. We came back the next day to ride and it had closed down for 6 months…), so I was excited to ride it. My favorite ride in Magic Kingdom was The Haunted Mansion. We actually had a pretty funny time with that ride. The ride was supposed to be closed the whole time we were on vacation for renovation. I was disappointed because I had never ridden the ride. We came back to the Magic Kingdom on our last day to watch the fireworks display, and my dad noticed that the DisneyWorld Official App said that there was a 30 minute wait on the Haunted Mansion. We decided to check it out, just in case it was open. Sure enough, we were soon in line to ride.

The next day we were back at Hollywood Studios. Nothing really interesting happened then xD…The next two days were spent at Universal Studios (more on that on my next post).

On Thursday, we went to Epcot. We had Fast Passes for Mission: Space, Spaceship Earth and Soarin’. Three rides have tied for my favorites in Epcot. I absolutely LOVE Mission: Space, Soarin’ and Test Track!!! Friday was also spent at Universal Studios, so I’m going to skip over to Saturday (our last day DX).

We went to Animal Kingdom on Saturday. Our Fast Passes for the day were for Expedition Everest, the It’s Tough To Be A Bug show, and The Kali River Rapids (although we never rode it- we didn’t feel like getting wet). My favorite was definitely Expedition Everest. Soon, the day was over and we had to drive home. It was an amazing vacation- my favorite Christmas present ever!

Minecraft and Markers!

Recently, I have been saving up money for my big vacation. Since I am going to be in the car for 2 days, I wanted some new markers. I have heard about these amazing markers called Prismacolor markers. I spent some of my money and bought 28 markers, along with 2 white gel-pens and a black fine liner. I have also been playing Minecraft for awhile. I decided to combine my markers with Minecraft and create an in-game art studio. I opened it up on a friend’s realm yesterday. My friends would come and make requests. I would draw them, or take a photo for a photo-shoot. They would pay me (with diamonds :P) and I would show them the final project on my TeamSpeak, where I talk to them! Here are some of my drawings:

These are just a few of my many friends. If I weren’t homeschooled this year, I would have never met them. I did a homeschool summer camp on Minecraft and met them on the server. The drawings are pictures of: kamco1 (Santa Girl), supergirl365 (Turtle Hoodie and Blue Haired Girl), Illuminatee (“Hippie Banana” Girl) and scootaloo114 (Red Shirt and Light Brown Hair). I hope to draw more now that I have bought these markers!

My Drawing

The other day, my mom bought me a drawing book. It taught you how to draw cute little chibis! I drew one base off of a character I made up. Her name is Claire! I am hoping to post more drawings in the future, and I hope you like it :D! I also used some colored pencils to color it in. My mom bought them for my upcoming vacation!Claire Banks

My Upcoming Vacation!

For the longest time, I have wanted to go to Universal Studios. My little sister, Rebekah, has wanted to go to Disney World. This Christmas, my parents are driving my family down to Florida for a vacation! We will take two days to drive there and two days to drive back. We will go to Disney World for 5 days and Universal Studios for 3 days! I can’t wait! I love Harry Potter, and I am so excited about going to the Harry Potter theme park. I also am looking forward to going to Disney World because I can’t really remember the last time I went there. I have never been to Universal Studios before! I have been saving up my money so that I can buy a Harry Potter wand. I also sold a lot of my American Girl doll stuff that I don’t use for money. I’m collecting little journals so that I won’t get bored in the car. I can’t wait to go!!!!

Happy (early) Halloween!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, mainly just for the candy. This year, I’m going as the “ultimate bookworm”. I’m wearing costumes from all my favorite book series, including Divergent, Hunger Games, Percy Jackson and Harry Potter. My church is  also doing a Trunk or Treat, which is tonight. The seventh grade girls decided to do the “jungle book” theme. We are decorating the trunk to look like a jungle, and some of us are dressing as book characters. The main book our trunk is based off of is The Hunger Games. I’m am going to be dressed as Katniss, and am bringing my bow with me. Our trunk is an archery station. This weekend, right after Halloween, I’m going to a theme park with my friend, Emily. I can’t wait!!! We both love to ride roller coasters that flip. My dad wants me to go in a haunted house, but I’m not sure. I’ve only gone in a “kiddie” haunted house, and just that scared me! This is pretty much all that is happening this week. I hope you have an awesome Halloween! Bye!

My Week (in 200 words)

My week started like any normal week. On Monday, we had some friends come over. We played games (mostly Disney Universe) and went outside for awhile. I had a headache, so Monday wasn’t exactly my best day. I spent a lot of the day rereading my favorite book, Blood of Olympus. Tuesday was fairly normal. Nothing important happened, so I’m going to skip on over to Wednesday. Wednesday I had church. I’m in the Youth now, and the service was amazing! The Youth Leadership Team had a meeting afterwards, and I signed up to help set up the stage Friday. Thursday I helped out at my elementary school. I read to some second graders and then left for home. Then, I had piano lessons. They went fine, and I came back home. When I got home, I read some more of a book I am reading with my dad (Lord of the Rings). I finished it, and my dad said we could watch the movie Friday. Finally Friday came. I am currently writing this now. I have not seen the movie or set up the stage for Youth, although I’m about to do that! Hope you enjoyed! Bye for now!

Finish the Story…     “Come here!” Kiley yelled.

Finish the Story…

“Come here!” Kiley yelled. Jack came running behind her. “What did you find?” he asked. Their teacher had asked them to find interesting things in nature. “It’s some sort of box!” she replied, with a puzzled look on her face. The box looked like it had been in their backyard for ages. “I wonder why no one ever noticed it there.” Kiley said. She slowly opened the box. “Whoa!” both the children said in unison…

What was in the mysterious box? I need your help to finish the story. Tell your version of the end to the story in the comment section on my blog. I will choose one lucky story to be posted on my blog for every one to see. It wont be easy, but I hope you enjoy the ending!

By the Shores of Silver Lake

By the Shores of Silver Lake  by Laura Ingalls Wilder is an amazing book! In the beginning, Laura is living with her Ma, Pa, and her sisters Carrie, Grace and the now blind Mary. Laura and her family move from their old house and try to find a new one. They lived in an old house in the city until Pa could find a new house. He found one and bought it. The girls were so excited! A couple days after he bought the claim, the Ingalls heard about a claim jumper. He had taken somebody’s property and killed the true owner. Pa took his family to their claim before any claim jumper could get to it.  The Ingalls moved in and added a few of their own touches to the house. Will everything go well for the Ingalls? Find out in By the Shores of Silver Lake by Laura Ingalls Wilder
